Why is this?
I have created hundreds if not thousands of signs. Unfortunately I can’t show any of them.
I have been working in both traditional and digital sign shops for (too) many years now. Both as an employee and signwriting contractor.
As the actual real signwriters moved out of the industry and replaced by both skilled and unskilled labour from all walks of life. I stayed at the epicentre. Becoming ever more increasingly involved in all aspects of the industry.
In an attempt to upskill and stay ahead of the ‘curve’ (and to be able to work with this new cross section of newcomers). I became a jacket all trades and hopefully a master of some.
These areas include:
Client liaison
Site survey
Design & Artwork
Large format digital printing including print ready, colour correction and pre-print
All facets of sign production
Installation
Not too long ago I also ran the exercise of creating a resume online. And found that I could potentially fill out multiple areas including:
Graphic art and design
Printing
Skilled tradesman
Manufacturing and production
Production supervisor
Project manager
